These chocolate bliss balls are the perfect healthy treat, they’re delicious, super easy to make and they only require a few ingredients. We usually make a batch of these each week to snack on when we have a sweet tooth and they’re great for when you’re on the go.
Ingredients
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp shredded coconut (optional)
Servings: bliss balls
Instructions
- Soak the dates in hot water for 10 minutes to soften them.
- Drain the dates and put them into a food processor fitted with an s-blade with all the remaining ingredients except the coconut.
- Process until a thick paste has formed - if it's too sticky add a few more oats.
- Roll into golf ball sized balls and roll in coconut if you want to. Keep refrigerated.

Made these the other night. Slightly modified the recipe as had no maple syrup so used coconut oil instead. This is a great base recipe and I decided to throw in some pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds and a bit of coconut. Definitely a healthy snack option to have with a cup of tea at night. Not super sweet which is great, is amazing how your taste buds adjust when you start cutting out refined sugars from your diet.
