The vegan Big Mac

We turned the classic McDonald’s Big Mac burger vegan and the result was delicious! The special sauce turned out spot on and while it can’t be made in a couple of minutes like the McDonald’s version, this recipe is still quick and easy to whip up in 10 minutes or less!

Ingredients
For the burger
  • 4 vegan "beef" patties
  • 2 slices vegan cheddar cheese*
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 2 tbsp finely diced white onion
  • 4 pickle slices
  • 3 sesame seed hamburger buns
For the special sauce
  • 1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp minced dill pickles
  • 1 tsp sugar
Servings: burgers
Instructions
  1. Cook the vegan patties according to packet instructions.
  2. While the patties cook prepare the special sauce by thoroughly mixing all of the ingredients together.
  3. Cut two of the hamburger buns in half and slice the top off the third hamburger bun and then slice the bun in half to create the two middle buns of the burger.
  4. To assemble the burger spoon about a tablespoon of the special sauce onto the bottom bun then sprinkle with some diced onion and shredded lettuce. Next, add the slice of cheese, the pickles and the patty. Place the middle bun on, add another of tablespoon of special sauce, more onion, lettuce, another patty and of course the top bun!
Recipe Notes

* We used Wilmersburger Cheddar Style slices, this is the best vegan cheese brand I've found in Europe so far, tastes like the real deal!
